Waning

the only mechanic of swing

a reposeful dying motion
(a dwindling)

The best way to describe waning is to use an animation. As shown the animation seems to be most applicable to putting. But in truth all pure swings exhibit this "dying" motion. Granted, all pure swingers accomplish this at different rates. This is what the professional labels as "tempo." Nick Price, for example, has a very quick deceleration. Fred Couples has a very slow and smooth waning. Whatever the case, this deceleration must occur within the limit sphere of the swinger. Waning is delayed by consciousness. Therefore a slight delay in letting go at the beginning of swing will lead to chaos at the edge of the swing sphere. Many golfers(men in particular) make a movement that would dwindle perfectly for an eight foot giant. Such a movement however for the six foot man is completely destructive. This is what a couple of my friends describe as "tough guy golf." The only cure is a humble realization that the motion itself controls the mechanical functions of swing, nothing else.
